| AESTHETICS CONFIRMED: Noted Architecture Critic Lauds Hunters View and One Hunters Point |
Speaking at Info Fest, New York Times Architecture
Critic Carter Horsley commented on Hunters View and One Hunters Point:
"One Hunters Point and Hunters View both exhibit a very clean and crisp aesthetic derived from Modernist industrial architecture that emphasized fine proportions, functionality and elegance. The broad windows echo those found on many of the older commercial properties in Long Island City but are framed with discretely designed spandrels that greatly enhance the buildings' appearance. Rather than indulge in showy colors and garish appendages like many recent new residential buildings in the outer boroughs of the city, these very handsome two buildings are restrained and refined in the best traditions of contextual architecture.”

retail income. The development will have sustainable features including
a green roof.
Another affordable housing project, Shore Hill Apartments is
a large preservation project that will renovate two 14-story buildings
that include 600 units of senior housing nearby the Verrazano Bridge
